LG poll: Ubong Akai consults Esit Eket PDP

Esit Eket chairmanship aspirant, Prince Ubong David Akai ahead of November 11th local government elections last week consulted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Esit Eket chapter. 

The consultation which took place at the chapter Chairman’s residence had in attendance all the chapter and ward officers of the party. 

In his remarks Prince Ubong Ukai said he was into the race with a serious conviction that he will emerge victorious come election day. He said the people of the area are not comfortable as a result of insecurity in the area which is a serious concern to the people at this period of time. 

According to him, the level of insecurity is not encouraging and if nothing is been done about it, it will cause the people to run up and down as in the case of Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo local government areas.  the Aspirant urged the people to support the candidacy of his Excellency Deac Udom Emmanuel come 2019

Prince Ubong noted that the land of Esit Eket is filled with natural resources and that natural resources need a serious, focus person who will be able to manage and utilize the resources for the benefit of the people. 


He also condemned the level of unemployment in the area, “ I have seen that unemployment is very alarming in Esit Eket and with a creative minds we can put and end to it an by also keying into the vision of His Excellency the Governor of the State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s industrialization agenda”.

He further urged the party officers of the area to support a candidate with good intentions for the people in the up coming local government election and Deacon Udom Emmanuel. 

On his manifesto, Prince Ubong Akai assured the people that if been voted in to office as the Chairman of the area, he will add value in the area of Education. 

He also assured to add value in the area of employment by creating enabling environment for jobs opportunities.

He further assured to add value in the area of security, he urged the elders to support him when it come to decision making.

The PDP Chapter Chairman of Esit Eket, Hon. Eddy Etangkanga in his own speech, commended Prince Akai for his determination to serve his people, urging him not to relent his effort, stating that there are many candidates aspiring for the same position he is aspiring for. 

Hon. Etangkanga further assured that PDP in Esit Eket will offer a fare level playing ground for all the aspirant in the People’s Democratic Party, that the party will show justice, that who ever that wins the election, the party will work with the person. In his words, “I would have supported you, but the problem is that I have a friend who is contesting for the Chairmanship seat which I’m supporting. But nevertheless, only God gives people power and also put people in the position of authority. If it is the will of God for you to win, you will win.”

Mr. Cobs Johnny speaking on behalf of Zone A, urged the people of the area to support Prince Akai as he will bring true leadership to the people if elected in to office. 

Also speaking on behalf of Zone B, Mr. Isaiah Edoh assured Prince Akai of the Zone’s support, noting that the party at the zone level have accepted him to represent them. 

Imo Edoho urged prince Akai not to relent his effort, but to also consult his opponents in other to also seek advice from them. 

The youths of the area expressed their satisfaction on Prince Ubong Akai, describing him as a young man who think after  the development of the youths. 

The youths, led by the youth leader of PDP in the area, Prince Akan Etteudo drummed their support for Prince Akai, according to them,  if being elected to office he will keep to his campaign promises. “Prince Ubong Akai is not a self centered politician as others, he his one of them who think for the betterment of the people.”

The Chair of Chairs ward Chairmen, Mr. Effiong Johnson also pledged the support of the entire ward Chairmen to the leading aspirant. 

Another ward Chairman,  Mr. Jacob of Ward seven also affirmed the support of the ward Chairmen to the aspirant.
