Man stabs gambling operator over N3, 000 in Akwa Ibom
A 23– year old man identified as Etim Ekanem has been arrested by the Police for allegedly stabbing a gambling operator in Uyo.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday last week at Oku Street, Uyo.

An eye witness revealed that after losing the sum of N3,000 to gambling, Etim had accused the victim of defrauding him and threatened to kill him if he did not refund the money.

According to reports, the victim had refused to refund Etim, insisting that the money was no longer his own, as the game was all about luck.

Obviously angered by the victim’s response, Etim pulled out a screw driver from his pocket and stabbed the victim in the neck.

It took the intervention of passers-by to stop Etim from inflicting further injuries on the victim, a source revealed.

The Police arrived at the scene and arrested Etim while the victim was rushed to the hospital by a good Samaritan.

Speaking during the arrest, the Police Officer advised youths to desist from gambling and seek legitimate ways to better their lives.
