 Uniuyo Inaugutates new SUG exco

Management of the University of Uyo inaugurated her 25th Students Union Government (SUG) Executives and Senate members for the year 2017/2018.
The inauguration which took place last Tuesday at Oyeamma Ugochukwu hall, town campus of the institution. 

The newly sworn-in SUG executives included Duff Gabriel-President, Hanniel Ufford-Vice President, Victor Iwouha-Secretary General, Grace Bassey-Attorney General, Inyene Dominic-Director of Information, Nelson Etok-Director of Socials, Edidiong Uyei-Director of transport, Samuel Umoh-Director of Health while the Director of Sports is yet to be elected.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Enefiok Essien (SAN) congratulated the newly sworn in executives and senators. “On behalf of the University Management, I want to congratulate the executive that have just been sworn in”

He admonished the new excos to remain focus in their primary goal which is their education and avoid distractions that the new height might bring.

The VC, represented by Prof. Inyang Udofot, Deputy Vice Chancellor thanked the outgoing president and his executives commending them for maintaining a peaceful tenure without any major crisis.


While appreciating the outgoing executives, Essien advised the newly sworn executives to fellow the track record of their predecessors.
“I welcome you on board and I charge you all to follow the track record of your predecessors” he stated

Essien reiterated the need to put God first in all their endeavours, shining as lights as they become student’s leaders and prayed God to grace their efforts.

“I pray God to enable you all so that you may change things when there are necessary, have the similitude to accept the things you cannot change. 

May you have the wisdom to change the ones you can change and the courage too to change the things they cannot do. I pray for wisdom to distinguish one thing from another.”
