Councilorship aspirant receives Royal Blessing

The Village Head of Ikot Obong Afaha Obong in Abak Local Government Area, Chief Akpan Isaac Essien has advised the Peoples Democratic Party to give tickets to credible, competent and people with excellent track-record as the forth coming local government election approaches.

Chief Isaac Essien who gave the advise in his Palace when one of the leading contenders for the Afaha Obong Ward 2 councillorship  seat, Comrade Monday Isaac paid a consultation visit to Ikot Udo Family, described the aspirant as a humble, transparent and hard-working gentleman.

The Royal Father lauded the councillorship hopeful for his selfless contribution to the development of the community over the years. “We are all aware of the sacrifices and contributions he rendered for the development of our community even when he was not a councilor. So, it is our belief that if given the opportunity, he would do more for our people. We will support his aspiration, we will continue to pray for him, believing that God will actualize his aspiration”, the royal father stated.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Campaign Committee, Mr. Benedictus Benedict who introduced the aspirant, described him as a devout Christian, a community mobilizer, a youth activist and a committed partyman who has over the years worked, sensitized and mobilized the people to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates at all levels.

“As a youth activist, Comrade Monday Isaac has been mobilizing the youths to support government polices and programmes. As a community mobilizer, he has contributed immensely to the development of this community which you are all aware. And as a committed partyman, he has organized sensitization seminars for the people of this ward, worked and mobilized for the success of the party at all levels. So, we humbly solicit for your support and prayers”, the Campaign Chairman appealed.

Addressing the gathering, the councillorship hopeful, Comrade Monday Isaac thanked the village Head, Chiefs, Elders and the entire people of the Family for coming out in large number for the event.

Comrade Isaac said the meeting was to formally intimate the people of his family of his intension to contest the forth-coming councillorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and to solicited for their support and prayers.

The councillorship hopeful assured that having served his people in various capacities meritoriously in the past, if given the opportunity, he would not disappoint the people of the Ward, but would rather attract the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of Afaha Obong Ward 2.

Others who spoke at the well-attended occasion including; Mr. Friday Etim Okoyo, the Youth Chairman, Ikot Obong Village, Mr. Edidiong Okoyo, Prince Akaninyene  Akpan Isaac, Mr. Christian Okoyo among others described Comrade Monday Isaac as the best material to represent the people of Afaha Obong Ward 2 in Abak Legislative Council and assured him of their support.

High point of the occasion was offering of prayers for the councillorship hopeful. The event was witnessed by executive and members of Conglomeration of Youths for Democratic Liberty (CYDL) led by the National Secretary, Mr. Utibe Godwin, Executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party, Afaha Obong Ward 2 among others.
