Ikono LG Chairmanship Race: Edieneitak reaffirm support for Augustine Umoh …. Endorse him as sole Candidate

Dr. Augustine  AsuquoUmoh, a  leading a chairmanship hopeful in the upcoming November 11th Local Government Elections under the plate form of PDP, is gradually making political waves to clinch the number one seat in the L.G.A.

The momentum was further intensified last Wednesday, 26 July 2017 in EdieneItak, venue of where political bigwigs, stakeholders, movers and shakers converged to reiterate their stand on the choice of the university don, cum politician whom they equally adopted as their sole chairmanship candidate before marketing him out to the entire Ikono people.

A three man convener of the well-attended meeting in the person of Chief EtimInyang, former PDP chapter Chairman, Engr. EdetUmotong, former Executive ChairmanIkono, and ObongAkanimohAsanga, political leader ward 9, all spoke in glowing terms of Dr. Umoh whom they described as worthy son of EdieneItak Clan and virtue of zoning is favoured as a true son of NnungUdoeItak Ward 11 in particular.

According to Chief Inyang “I am well pleased with the people of EdieneItak and in particular Ward 9 and 10 for standing by NnungUdoeItak to produce the next Chairman of Ikono LGA.”

They expressed optimism that with the person of Dr. AugustineAsuquoUmoh as an Executive Chairman, EdieneItak Clan and Ikonoas a whole would not be disappointed

On his part, Engr. EdetUmotong praised the aspiration of Dr. Umoh whom he pointed out has gotten the acceptance of Ikono people. He said EdieneItak has since taken over the course of Dr. Umoh “and by what am seeing, he is gradually making waves”. He described the cream of people who have identified with his aspiration, as political stakes who always make things happen, however, pledged their unalloyed support and determination to deliver Dr. Umoh as their next Executive Chairman.


ObongAkanimohAsanga in his words also said he is not shaking because he will do his utmost best to ensure Dr. Umoh emerged the next Ikono Chairman. Speakers upon speakers aligned themselves in the choice of Dr. Umoh, accordingly vowed to deliver him but charged him not to disappoint them when he emerge.

Responding, Dr. AugustineAsuquoUmoh while summarizing his speech promised not to fail them. He particularly commended the founding fathers of his campaign organization, pointing out that their support have gone a long way in adding value to his aspiration. 

“Honestly I will not disappoint you for standing by me especially Chief EtimInyang, Hon. Umotong, ObongAkanimoh and others. I promise to make you proud. I appreciate your immense supports and contributions in whatsoever capacity”. He added.

Dr. Umoh also hinted that top of his priority would be human capacity development and wealth creation, in the same vein, charged them to continue to stand firm.
