APGA offers one of the best possible platforms - Hon. Joseph Patrick Otu

BY SAMPSON ENYONGEKERE

The Akwa  Ibom State  Chairman of  the All Progressives  Grand Alliance, APGA, Hon. Joseph Patrick Otu,  last weekend  said his party has one of the best platforms  in the State for those intending to contest  the forth – coming Local Government elections to actualize their ambition.

Hon. Joseph Otu   stated this in his office, in an extensive interview with newsmen who cornered him for comments on sundry political developments in the State.

Hon. Otu, a strong, consistent and bold voice in the politics of Akwa Ibom, who is believed to have attained the commanding height of State APGA Chairman by his level – headedness and political sagacity, emphasized on the availability and uniqueness of APGA’s platform for all and sundry who may be interested in giving the PDP a run for their money in the November 11 polls.

Fast – talking APGA Chairman said contesting on the platform of APGA cost next to nothing for male aspirants, as the nomination form was highly subsidized by the National Headquarters of the party and virtually free for female aspirants who have indicated interest to vie for elective offices in the November 11 election and encouraged intending aspirants to embrace the magnanimous  opportunity offered by his party, which he said was one of the biggest in the Country, to actualized their  ambition.

He said APGA’s manifesto was fashioned to empower Nigerians and encourage a good democratic culture which will placed Nigerians at par with their contemporaries in the comity of nations. Hon. Otu expressed the need for creative individuals to join in synergy with government, political party affiliation notwithstanding.

On why APGA is the preferred platform, Hon. Otu harped on the affordability of APGA’s form, a move he said was deliberate to encourage political participation and stimulate massive democratic culture.

The State APGA helmsman expressed happiness over the fast-approaching Local Government elections whose time-table was recently made public as that, according to him,”will reveal the strength and structures of the various political parties.”He called on Akwa Ibom people to get registered in order to exercise their civic responsibility, as their voter’s card was their strength for any political activism and agitation.

He added, that APGA has a strong and vibrant structure across the thirty one Local government Areas of the State as well as credible people working for it and with it to come out victorious in the forth-coming elections.

“Our party is not in any way afraid of facing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the field come November 11,having done much to enlighten the people on the need to elect the best candidates. I assure would-be aspirants of credible primaries because credibility is what makes APGA different from all others. We preach the message of political inclusiveness, development, empowerment and change.”

His words again:”The slogan of our party is, BE YOUR BROTHER AND SISTER’S KEEPER. Our door is open to all intending members who will be innovative enough to help the party grow and our platform is available to all aspirants.”

The State Chairman of APGA   scored the PDP-led government of Governor Udom Emmanuel high on its developmental strides, particularly in the area of industrial renaissance   and in its effort at revamping the Akwa Ibom economy. He opined that the governor must necessarily not embark on rocket science and aeronautics development before being commended by the people.
