The Commissioner, who underscored the importance of providing shelter for men of God, said “God’s servants are the spiritual fathers of the church and as such should be made comfortable in their places of abode,”  adding that Christians should be their brothers’ keepers and  learn to always do the right thing at the right time.”

On the renaming of Uruan Street in Uyo after the great theologian, Samuel Bill, the commissioner mentioned that the state Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel had already concluded arrangements to communicate details of the decision to the leadership of Qua Iboe Church.

In his keynote address on the theme, “Inconsistent Christian Behavior,” the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, Elder Eyaekop Umana, encouraged Christians to be consistent in their faith, citing the book of Jude chapter three verses one to five.

He enumerated the areas in which Christians are inconsistent to include marriage and family life; politics and covenant; faith practice; child up-bringing; fashion and social life as well as in science and technology.

The Elder admonished Christians to bring up their children in the fear of God, adding that the ethical and moral values of Africans are being challenged than ever before owing to technology which has corrupted the youths who engage in negative use of the social media and other technological devices. He emphasized the need to re-dedicate the youths to God.
