Grace Dieu Academy ends Parents’ Day, Convocation ceremony

One of the fast-growing Nursery and Primary Schools in the state, Grace Dieu Academy, Obong Ntak in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area has on 22 July, 2015 ended her maiden Parents’ Day/ Graduation of first batch of pupils with a charge on them to go and be shinning stars in their next academic endeavours at their chosen secondary schools, urging their parents and guardians to have special interest in their education as well as assist schools in the course of bringing their wards up in line with the 21st century academic standard.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the Proprietor of Grace Dieu Academy, Elder Christian Iwok heartily welcomed the parents, guardians and invited guests for turning up to grace the epochal ceremony and commended them for given out their wards to be trained and nurtured in the school.
Elder Iwok stressed that the duty of training the pupils lies on the shoulders of both the parents/guardians and their school teachers, urging parents to take it as a point of duty to always complement the efforts of the teachers by reviewing their children’s works when they return from schools, noting that such exercises would ease the work of a teacher and add value to the education of such children.
Commenting on the school, the renowned educationist said that Grace Dieu Academy was established in September 8, 2014 with the vision and mission of training world-class pupils and students that can compete academically with their contemporaries at any society coupled with the true Christian background of the school.
He commended the efforts of the school’s teachers for their teaching skills, care and love for the pupils, and attributed the high academic standard of the school to them (teacher’s efforts). He also saluted the Parents-Teachers’ Association (PTA) of the school for their unwavering love, support and encouragement for the continuous growth and development of the school, adding that ‘without the backings of the PTA, the successes recorded so far by this school wouldn’t have been attainable’. Sir Iwok therefore used the medium to call on interested parents and guardians to send their wards to ‘Grace Dieu Academy’ for an all-round academic exercise.
In their separate reactions, the PTA Chairman, Mr.Godwin Etim Johnny; the village head, Chief Lawrence Afangideh; Elder M. J. Usoro, and Evangelist Sekeme Ekaiko, expressed satisfaction in the academic standard and growth and development of the school. They charged the pupils especially the out-going pupils to go to their choice secondary schools and prove their worth as well as make Grace Dieu Academy - their Alma-Mata, proud.
Also reacting, the school’s teaching staff members, Mr. Ufok W. Iwok, Miss Kate Ekong David, Miss Ediomo Afangideh, Idiongo Iwok and Edidiong Dickson expressed resolves to re-double their teaching efforts in order to maintain or raise the standard that Grace Dieu Academy is known for.
