The fate of Etebi – Enwang road

The Etebi Enwang road whose contract was awarded to SINOENG , Construction Company has become a dead trap and eyesore due to its deplorable state especially during this rainy season. When journalists visited the area recently it was difficult to speak with inhabitants of the area who have been automatically cut off from the rest of the people in the state due to bad road.

Volunteering information to journalists, the Administrative Manager of the company, Mr. Moses Unweh lamented that the 22km road with two bridges has been constructed up to 12km while the remaining 10km was abandoned since July 2014 due to lack of funding.
Unweh who said that workers at the site are still being owed four months salary areas called on governor Udom Emmanuel to take up the completion of the road so as to ameliorate the sufferings of the people in the area.
He stated that after completion the road will link Akwa Ibom to neighbouring Rivers state.
It could be recalled that the ETEBI- ENWANG ROAD whose contract was awarded by former governor Godswill Akpabio has suffered a setback since SINOENG Construction Company shut down construction one year ago.
