Family Heads in the State under the umbrella of Ekpuk (Family) Heads Association have assured the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel that irrespective of the case going on at the Election Petition Tribunal, he is going to govern the state for eight years uninterrupted. The State Chairman of the Association, Otuekong Sunday Umoh JP accompanied by some executive and members of the Association, gave the assurance during the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the AIT/Ray Power Station at Midim Waterside Village, Abak describing the establishment of the station at Abak as a welcome development which will create job opportunities to the people of Abak in particular and Akwa Ibom State in general.
Otuekong Umoh commended Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his wisdom to industrialize the state, assuring that Ekpuk (Family) Heads in the state will continue to support him with prayers to succeed.
He described Mr. Udom Emmanuel as a Governor who will work for the interest and development of the 31 Local Government Areas of the State and not only his Local Government Area of origin. “I have seen Udom Emmanuel as the Governor who will work for the development of the whole state, not only one Local Government Area. He has started very well, we will continue to support him with prayers to succeed”, Otuekong Umoh assured.
While thanksgiving the Governor for personally coming to perform the Ground-Breaking ceremony, Otuekong Umoh who is also the Village Head of Ikot Oku Ubara, Ediene Clan in Abak pointed out that the rain that showered that day was a blessing to him, his government an the entire people of the state.
The Royal Father however appealed to the State Governor to always remember to recognize Ekpuk (Family) Heads at public functions as his predecessor, Chief Godswill Akpabio always did.
He commended the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo who was also physically present at the occasion, describing him as a worthy and illustrious son of Abak who will use his wealth of experience to add value to the new administration in the state.
Otuekong Umoh also lauded the Transition Committee Chairman for Abak, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen for the well-polished speech he delivered on that day, stressing that the people of Abak are happy and proud to have such a vibrant and dynamic young man and their Chairman.
The Royal Father appealed to the management of DAAR Communications to employ youths of Abak who can work to assist them and assured them of the support and cooperation of the people of Abak.
He regretted that some village Heads in the State do not like to carry their Family Heads along, and called for a change of attitude.
Meanwhile, a general meeting of the Association will hold on Tuesday, 25th August, 2015 at 89 Uyo Road, Ediene Abak by 9am. The purpose of the meeting of the meeting is to screen and recognize all the registered Family Heads in the state.
A statement signed by the State Chairman, Otuekong Sunday Umoh JP and Secretary Apostle Edet Mathew has advised those who did not obtain their identity card to come and do so.
According to the statement, those who are not registered Family Heads are not invited.
