ENNON Model School holds 9th graduation/parents’ day celebration
The 9th Graduation/ Parents’ Day Celebration of Ennon Model Nursery/Primary School, 9b Oku Abak Lane, Abak Local Government Area took place last Wednesday at the school premises.
The ceremony started with procession by beautifully dressed pupils of the school. 
 
In his exhortation, Evang. Tonivic Asuquo who spoke on the topic “Parenting for better society” advised the pupils to always take their studies seriously so as to become useful citizens in future.
 
Evang. Asuquo who took his text from Prov. 22-6 admonished parents to send their children to good schools that will train them for a better tomorrow.
 In her welcome address, the Headmistress of the school, Deaconess Idongesit E. Iffot noted that the school is academically excelling having graduated a total number of 417 pupils between 2007 and 2015. “The school is academically excelling. We have graduated a total number of 417 pupils between 2007-2015. The school recorded 100 percent pass in the 2014 placement examination. Our pupils also performed credibly in various secondary schools in the state, including Federal Government Colleges. Today, sixty-seven pupils are graduating”, she remarked.
 
Deaconess Iffot commended some of the parents and guardians for their commitment in providing the needs of their children promptly and congratulated parents of the graduating pupils for successfully completing the first in their children’s education.
 
And for the graduands, the Headmistress charged them to shun all forms of crime and pride, but should be determined to succeed. “My beloved graduands, you have successfully completed your primary school education in this noble institution. Seven years ago, you came in as a toddler, you have been groomed academically, morally and spiritually for the post primary education. I charge you to shun all forms of crimes and pride. Be determined to succeed and this requires hard-work and obedience to constituted authority”, Deaconess Iffot advised.
 
In his speech, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Boniface E. Okon commended Ennon Model School for standing tall in terms of academic excellence and moral upbringing of the pupils.
 
Represented by Mr. Ndifreke Williams, the Chairman noted that the pupils who pass out of Ennon Model School do excel in Common Entrance Examination to post primary institutions of their choice and even while in these schools, do come top in their class work.
 
He congratulated the graduating pupils and lauded the management of the school for creating a conducive atmosphere for parents to interact with the teachers and pupils.
 
Responding on behalf of the graduating pupils, Kemfon Abel Akpan expressed gratitude to God for successfully seeing them through their primary education and commended their teachers for their dedication, encouragement and perseverance in nurturing them.
 
She also thanked their parents and relatives for their hard-work, sacrifice and support to give them a better education.
 
Miss Kemfon Akpan used the occasion to commend the Proprietor, Headmistress and the PTA for organizing the graduation ceremony in their honour.
 
Speaking with journalists, the Proprietor of the school, Mr. Iffot expressed gratitude to God that the vision for establishing the school has started yielding positive results.
 
At the occasion, a new executive of Parents/Teachers Association was inaugurated with Mr. Idongesit S. Etibeng as the Chairman. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Etibeng thanked the management of the school for finding him worthy to serve the school as the PTA Chairman and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him and the new executive.
 
He thanked the immediate past PTA for laying a good foundation for the new executives. Mr. Etibeng promised to carry everybody along and solicited for the support and cooperation of all to enable them succeed.
 
Speaking with journalists, one of the parents who proposed a toast, Prince Nsikan Ibanga commended the management for the high academic standard set by the school, describing Ennon Model School as one of the best schools for the promotion of qualitative education.
 
The occasion featured presentation of prizes to the best pupils in academics, to the most punctual staff, and to all the staff.
 
Abasifreke Ndifreke Williams emerged the best graduating pupil.
