Southern Ukanafun Clan hails Aniekan Akpan, Gov Emmanuel

The people of southern Ukanafun Clan in Ukanafun L.G.A. have felicitated with the commissioner for Education, Elder Aniekan Akpan on his appointment. The Clan made its position known in a release signed by some of their outstanding sons, Engr. Emmanuel Obong – Secretary to the Clan Council, Obong Saturday Umoren – Central Youths President, Elder Emmanuel Etukudo and Barr. Idongesit Umoh.

According to the release, “we have followed your career to this number of years, and are so excited by your achievements in all your endeavours. You have always impressed us with your clear vision and ability to excel”.
They expressed the hope that the commissioner’s wealth of experience, exceptional ability and exemplary humility will enable him to perform creditably. The Commissioner’s kinsmen pledged their unwavering support to the state government that found their brother worthy for the exalted office, praying God to guide and protect the commissioner.
While drawing the attention of the state government to the dilapidated public school buildings in Ukanafun, they expressed optimism that as a proficient professional teacher , former Education Secretary, Local Government Chairman and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Education in the immediate past Sate Assembly that he has all it takes to improve the sector.
In the same vein, they commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for appointing Elder Akpan as the Commissioner for Education, describing the State Chief Executive as a promise keeper whose manifesto has started manifesting since he assumed office. They described the Governor as a good friend of Ukanafun, saying “a friend in need is a friend indeed” and assured the State Government of the support and Commitment of Ukanafun people.
They also hailed the Transition Committee Chairman, Barr. Samuel Udoko and members on their recent appointment and charged them to be focused on the task of developing the area.
