A former two-term Councilor who represented Afaha Obong Ward 2 in Abak Legislative Council, Sir Jude Edem has described the emergence of Elder Friday Iwok as the PDP Standard-bearer for Abak State Constituency as the best thing to happen to the people of Abak State Constituency.
Sir Jude Edem who spoke with our reporter at Abak, attributed the victory of Elder Friday Iwok at the recently concluded PDP primaries on his dependant on God, “Why Elder Friday Iwok has been able to emerge as the PDP standard-bearer for a second term is that he is a dependant on God. So, his emergence was the handiwork of God,” the former Councilor stated.
Sir Edem explained that the people of Abak gave Elder Iwok the mandate because of the achievements recorded by the Assemblyman during his first three years in office.
He expressed the hope that his second term mandate will give the Chairman House Committee on Health the opportunity of attracting more dividends of democracy to the Constituency. “Friday Iwok’s emergence is the best thing to happen to Abak because it will give him the opportunity of attracting more dividend of democracy back home,” the former Councilor reasoned.
The PDP Chieftain pointed out that Elder Iwok has been living at home with his people since his inauguration into the State House of Assembly in 2011 and as such, the people of Abak have every reason to give him 100 percent support to go back during the forth-coming general election.
He called on the people of Abak to vote for Elder Friday Iwok and all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the forth-coming election.
Sir Edem advised the youths to shun violence and support PDP, stressing that Abak local government area belongs to PDP.
He also solicited support for President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Chief Godswill Akpabio, assuring that PDP will win in the State and the National level.
Sir Edem used the occasion to wish the people of Abak a very prosperous new year.
