RTEAN advocates violence free polls  … Declares support for Udom Emmanuel
A major transport union  in Akwa Ibom State,  the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Akwa Ibom State branch has made a case for a violence free elections even as it throws its weight behind the Peoples  Democratic Party and all its candidates.  

This was made known by the State Chairman of the union, Comrade George Emmanuel at the Ibom International Airport shortly after his return from the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union. 
 The union leader said RTEAN at the National level had rooted for President Jonathan’s re-election hinting that the state chapter after careful consideration settled for the Peoples Democratic Party. According to him, the union has directed all its members in the 31 LGAS to vote for Deacon Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates in the state. He warned members against being used by politicians for thuggery and other forms of violence, stressing that the Union was promoting a violence free elections.  

Comrade Emmanuel appealed to its members to ensure they get their Permanent Voters Cards in readiness for the election. He expressed optimism that the duo of Udom Emmanuel and Moses Ekpo will continue the infrastructural revolution in the state especially in the area of industrialization and road reconstruction.  

Comrade Emmanuel used the opportunity to thank Governor Godswill Akpabio for salvaging road transport workers in the state by reconstructing many roads in the last seven years.
