Okobo people celebrate  Felicia Bassey over democratic dividends
It was a celebration galore as elders, PDP stalwarts,   youths and women celebrated their Executive chairman, Princess Felicia Bassey over what they termed delivery of quality dividends of democracy to the governed, and unanimously reaffirmed their earlier massive endorsements for her in the 2015 Okobo State Constituency House of Assembly election.

The celebration and reaffirmation of their support to the Okobo PDP House of Assembly flag bearer came when Princess  Felicia Bassey in her characteristic manner, gathered Okobo people at her Oti-Oro  residence on December 31, 2014 and distributed about 700 bags of rice, T-shirts, wrappers and cash to them.
Addressing the excited mammoth crowd, Princess Felicia Bassey hinted that the beauty of participatory democracy has to do with an ability of those elected and appointed into various political offices to give the electorate a sense of belonging in governance and touch their lives positively.

Felicia Bassey disclosed that she assembled the people in the spirit of Christmas and in appreciation of their unalloyed support to her administration and that of Chief Godswill Akpabio so as to thank them and support them to celebrate the Christmas and new year in a special way.

She specifically commended members of Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance (ACA), Atak Oro Development Union, Elders, youths and women and entire Okobo people for responding promptly to her invitation, adding that the impressive turn out at the special meeting signifies the love and confidence Okobo people have in her.

Princess Bassey expressed deep gratitude to Okobo Delegates at the last year PDP primaries for believing in her competence, capacity and fertile sense of administration and reassured them of more dividends of democracy and life-touching projects when elected into the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly during the February 2015 general elections.

The Okobo chairman also thanked the Delegates for massively voting for Udom Gabriel Emmanuel during the December 8, PDP Gubernatorial Primaries and assured them of better days ahead.
 She also used the opportunity to specially appreciate Governor Godswill Akpabio and wife Unoma for the uncommon transformation in the State and their determination towards    sustaining the tempo of development and good governance in the state.

She however called on Okobo people to vote Udom Emmanuel and all PDP candidates in the February general elections.

In their separate remarks, Barr.  Effiong Osung, Secretary, Board of Trustees, Atak Oro Development Union, Barr. Effiong Akwa, a prominent son of Okobo and former MD of Akwa Savings/Loans, Dr. (Arc) Emmanuel Atting, Mr. Michael Abang, Vice Chairman of Okobo Pastor Benedict Akwa, Chief Joe Offong, Mr. Attah Okon Attah, Okobo Coordinator, ACA, Councilors and party faithful all lauded the magnanimity and benevolence of Princess Felicia Bassey to Okobo people and described her as a seasoned politician with a large heart to accommodate all shades of interest in the two political  blocs in Okobo and promised to vote her en-masse and all PDP  candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Mr. Asuquo Koffi, the Secretary, Okobo local government council stated that Okobo would be better off with Felicia Bassey in the House of Assembly in the area of quality representation, human empowerment and life-touching programme.
