Ikot Oku Mfang holds Solemn Assembly

The first Solemn Assembly organized by Ikot Oku Mafng village in Abak Local Government Area for the year 2015, took place last Saturday at Ikot Oku Mfang Village Hall.

In his remark, the Coordinator of the Monthly Prayer Meeting, Apostle John Charlie said the meeting was to hand over the village to God for guidance and protection. Apostle Charlie thanked God for protecting them throughout the past years and for making it possible for them to live and see the New Year, 2015.
In his welcome address, the Village Head, Chief Uwemedimo Usoroh expressed gratitude to God for keeping them to see the New Year. 

Chief Usoro who described the first Solemn Assembly of the year as special, noted that it was their irrevocable resolved to keep God first in the community as according to him, God is the only one that can make impossibility to become possible.

The Village Head advised the people of the village to always remember to worship God and give thanks and praises onto Him.

The royal father thanked the people of the community for standing by him and working for the peace, unity and development of the community. He also lauded the family heads and the Councilors for their commitment and sacrifice which he noted has contributed to be peace being enjoyed in the community.
The Village Head called on the youths to hand over themselves to God for guidance and direction and advised them to engage themselves in meaningful ventures so as to become useful citizens in future. He used the occasion to wish the entire people of the village a very prosperous New Year

In his exhortation, the officiating minister, Pastor Ubokobong Ukotang who spoke on the topic “turn it into Babel” admonished the congregation to always remember to put God first in whatever they do Pastor Ukotang commended the village Head and the entire people of Ikot Oku Mfang for always remembering to hand over the community into the hands of God.

The man of God advised Christians not to be deceived in the name of Christ, stressing that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and will remain the same till the end of the world.

The Prayer Meeting featured Praises, thanksgiving, supplication and testimonies. Prayers were offered for the children, the youths, women, the community, Abak Local Government area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and the peaceful conduct of the forth-coming elections.
