In reverence to the Al mighty God as the giver of all good things ,Staff of the Ministry of Finance led by the Commissioner, Mr Akan Okon converged at the conference room of the ministry recently to seek the face of God for the new year.
In a message taken from the book of Daniel 2, the guest Minister ,Rev. Joseph Eton of the Presbyterian Church, Uyo Circuit acknowledged the supremacy of God ,citing the story of Daniel where God imparted his knowledge on him to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, admonishing Christians to draw closer to God for his divine direction.
Describing civil servants’ roles in the State as critical in view of their responsibilities to interpret and implement the visions of the government, Rev. Eton prayed God to grant the Staff his divine grace and wisdom to enable them pull through the challenges and carry out their functions effectively, while also enjoining them to put God first in all their dealings.
Addressing the staff after the prayer service, the Commissioner , Mr. Akan Okon expressed gratitude to God for keeping everyone alive to see the new year and prayed for the fulfillment of his purpose in the Ministry in 2015.
The Commissioner also commended the Staff for their support and cooperation , noting that their dedication and diligence enabled the Ministry to record significant strides in 2014, and assured of continuous enabling environment for efficient service delivery.
He lauded the level of co- ordination of the Ministry’s choir who rendered heart- warming tunes during the service , and supported the gesture with a donation of choir ropes
.
On his part , the Permanent Secretary, Elder Offiong Udoffe, expressed delight for the impressive turn-out of Staff to fellowship for the peace and progress of the Ministry, thanking the Commissioner for his fatherly disposition ,and pledged continuous loyalty and cooperation.

The service also featured intercessory prayers, song ministration, praise and worship.
