2015: Oro Youth Leaders adopt Akwa Ibom PDP Guber Candidate
Youth leaders of Oro Nation comprising the five local government areas of Oron Federal Constituency, have risen up to affirm their support and commitment to the election of Mr Udom Emmanuel as the next Governor of the State.

Rising from a meeting with the PDP Governorship candidate in Uyo, the youth leaders numbering over 300, maintained that Udom possessed the right qualities and pedigree to move the state to the next level.

One of the leaders Comrade Wilson Onofiok who moved a motion for the adoption of Udom’s aspiration said they were satisfied because the governorship candidate has surrounded himself with like minds who had built trust in the minds of the people.

According to him, “ you didn’t come to seek our support before the PDP primaries, but our delegates gave you 98 percent of our votes in the governorship primaries, now that you have be assured that Oron Federal Constituency  will give you 100percent of votes,” Onofiok said.

He explained that with an indigene of Eket Senatorial District in the saddle, the stood a better chance of more development in their communities.

Another youth leader Ubong Asuquo who seconded the motion, reiterated that Udom Emmanuel had entered into a covenant with Oro Nation youths and urged him to work towards fulfilling his promises when sworn into office.
Responding, Mr Udom Emmanuel assured the youths that he was one of them and will do everything to ensure that youths in the State are exposed to better opportunities.

The PDP Standard bearer charged the youths to shun the plague of ethnicity and segregation that is fast destroying the fabrics of the nation.
He said that irrespective of tribe and geographical boundaries, the people of the State should regard themselves as one and strive towards peaceful co-existence with one another  
 
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of their resolution to the governorship hopeful.
