2015 Guber- No room for opposition in Oro Nation

2015 Guber- No room for opposition in Oro Nation

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Chieftain from Oro nation, Chief Victor Mathew has dismissed insinuations making the rounds to the effect people of Oro nation will not support the candidature of Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel in the forthcoming election, insisting that Oro people were not ready to play opposition.

Chief Mathew stated this recently in Uyo during an interview with newsmen. He said that the Oro people will not in any way support the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC despite the fact that the party running mate is from the area.

The businessman magnet accused the APC governorship candidate, Obong Umana Okon Umana of betraying the Oro nation for not conceding the governorship slot to them if he has really loved them as he claimed.

He said, “The inability for Oro nation to produce governorship candidate today is because of Obong Umana Umana. He frustrated the efforts of Oro nation right from the time he was Secretary to the State Government, SSG. Today, he claims to love Oro by bringing his running mate from the area. He is only trying to deceive us and we would not allow ourselves to be fooled”.

The BOT Chairman of Oro Youths for Good Governance said that Udom Emmanuel remains the best man that would not only govern the state but will truely build on the legacies of the present administration, and urged people of the area to give their support to the PDP guber candidate.

“They should embrace Udom as their brother. They should support him. They should reject the insinuations by the opposition party that the choice of Udom is not in the interest of Oro nation”. He said.

Speaking on the success of Udom at the general elections, Chief Mathew said, “there is nothing on earth except God that will stop Udom from becoming the governor of this state”.

The outspoken youth leader chided the G22 aspirants said to have defected to the opposition party, stressing that they have nothing to offer as they cannot win election even in their wards”. He added that they were not prepared for the elections in the first instance and wondered how their defection to opposition will make any meaning.
