AD candidate promises better deal for Akwa Ibom people

The Akwa Ibom State governorship standard bearer of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) for the forthcoming general elections, Obong Samuel Atang has promised to initiate policies and programmes that will impact positively on the lives of the people if elected as governor. 

Atang, who gave the assurance during his consultation visit to Prestige Club Uyo, last week, said his administration would ensure the complete transformation of the state even as he also promised to revive dead industries as well as build new ones.

On education, Obong Samuel Atang pledged to rebuild dilapidated school buildings in the state as well as equip schools with computers to ensure that pupils and students were exposed early to modern information technology.
The AD governorship candidate while promising to introduce free and qualitative education in Akwa Ibom State said “free and qualitative education is the best legacy any proactive government can give to its people. My administration will not only ensure free education at all levels, but also ensure that books and educational materials are subsidized so that every Akwa Ibom child will have access to qualitative education.” 

Obong Atang who is also the Atta of Ekid, noted that he has put proper plans on ground to create gainful employments for the people of the state especially the graduates first six months if elected in to office. He said his government will ensure effective health care delivery to all pregnant women, edged men and women as well as children in the state.

The Eket born politician maintained that prompt payment of salaries and pension would be consider first throughout his administration, adding that his government will develop sports at all types as well as encourage youths to discover their talent at the grassroots levels.  
  
On security to life and property, he further promised to reduce crime rate in Akwa Ibom State, while decrying the spate of insecurity being witnessed in the state. While calling on the Prestige Club members to support his aspiration, He appealed to them to join hands with him to bring the necessary change and redeem Akwa Ibom state come next month general elections. In his words, “Akwa Ibom people should consider the experience of those who are vying to govern them and I am the most qualified candidate.” He said.

Responding, the Governor of Prestige Club, Dr. Etuk Nssien Etuk assured the AD governorship candidate, Obong Samuel Atang that the members of the Club will support his aspiration. Dr. Etuk noted that though Prestige Club is not a partisan in politics, promised that they will mobilize members of the public of voting age to queue behind Obong Atang during the election. According to the Club Governor “all members of the Club will work for you and I use this opportunity to wish you to come out victorious at the polls come next month general elections.” 

Present at the consultation was the state chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Pastor Ekomobong Akpan and all the contestants of the party from Uyo Senatorial District even as they pledged their total support to the candidature of Obong Samuel Atang.
