Cooperative society for Ikot Okpudo women

In her bid to encourage and empower  the women to take charge of their responsibilities as mothers and custodians of the future generation, the wife of the Secretary to the State Government Mrs. Maria Ekanem has expressed her willingness and readiness to register Ikot Okpudo Women Association in a corporative Society so as to enable them benefit Government developmental plans as well as having access to financial assistance and other soft loans.

Mrs. Ekanem dropped the hint at her family compound in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area when the women of Okpudo village paid her a courtesy visit.
She made it known to the women that the wife of the Governor Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio has made it possible for the women’s voices to be heard through the elevation of women into key positions in Government and thanked the Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for the honour done her husband and the people of Ikot Okpudo and the good people of Nsit Ubium Local government Area.

In her response, the Secretary of Ikot Okpudo Women’s Association, Mrs. Atim Omu, promised that the body will stand by her and the government of the day to deliver PDP as usual.

Also speaking the coordinator of the group, Lady Grace Etukudo thanked the women for their patience and orderliness during the visit and assured that they shall stand to benefit from the Association.

The visit witness an intercessory prayers led by deaconess Ekaette James and Deaconess Mary Jack for the Governor, Akwa Ibom State/Government and Nigeria.
