New political organization emerges in Abak
A new socio-political organization has been  formed in Abak Local Government Area. Known as “One family”, the group is aimed at bringing the people of Otoro Clan together to mobilize support for the ruling Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) at the forth-coming elections and also support government policies and programmes so as to attract dividends of democracy to Otoro Clan.

In an inaugural meeting of the group which took place over the weekend at Uruk USo, a former Councilor who represented Otoro Ward 2 in Abak Legislative Council, Prince Francis Umoh was unanimously appointed as the Chairman.

Also appointed were, the Abak Local Government Chapter Youth Leader of Akwa Ibom Consolation Alliance (ACA) Mr. Emmanuel Sunday Nnah as the Vice Chairman while Mr. Samuel Akpan Solomon is to serve as the Secretary.

In his speech, a former Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Otoro Ward One, Mr. Dominic Akpan Etor commended the convener, Prince Francis Umoh for his wisdom in bringing the people together to mobilize support for PDP during the forth-coming elections.

Mr. Akpan Etor advised against supporting opposition Party and prayed God to bless the convener. Addressing the well-attended meeting, the Chairman of the organization, Prince Francis Umoh thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and promised not to disappoint them.

Prince Umoh who regretted that the area was over the years being misled, said the group has decided to follow and support government policies and programmes and mobilize support for PDP during the forth-coming election.
The retired Superintendent of Police used the occasion to congratulate one of their illustrious sons, Elder Friday Iwok on the presentation of the PDP Flag to him as the Party’s Standard-bearer for Abak State Constituency.

The Chairman expressed happiness that the presentation of the flag came few days after the commissioning of Elder Friday Iwok Civic Centre, a beautiful edifice which will serve as a rallying point for the people of Otoro Clan, constructed and handed over to Otoro Clan Traditional Rulers Council by Elder Friday Iwok.

The former Council thanked Elder Friday Iwok for making the people of Otoro Clan proud through his outstanding performance in the State House of Assembly.

He assured the Assemblyman that One Family will mobilize support to ensure that he returns to the State House of Assembly for a record second term.

Prince Umoh also assured other PDP Candidates including Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Chief Godswill Akpabio and Mr. Emmanuel Ekon of their overwhelming support. Others who spoke at the meeting saluted the wisdom of the Convener and promised to work tirelessly to ensure total victory for PDP at the forth-coming elections.
