The Councilor representing Otoro Ward 3 in Abak Legislative Council, Elder Friday Archibong has congratulated the immediate past Director General, Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation, Pastor Praise Okon on his appointment and subsequent swearing into office as a Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service.
Elder Archibong who spoke with journalists in Uyo on Tuesday shortly after the inauguration, described the appointment of Pastor Praise Okon as meritorious and well-deserved.
The Councilor said the appointment did not come to him and the entire people of Otoro Ward 3 as surprise based on the excellent track record of Pastor Okon. Elder Archibong who is also the Chief Executive Officer FRIKPU Nigeria Limited, Abak, explained that through his wealth of experience, Pastor Okon has during his tenure as the Director General of Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC), transformed the corporation to a modern station.
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate our worthy and illustrious son, Pastor Praises Okon on his meritorious appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service. His appointment did not come to us as a surprise based on his excellent track record. So, we are happy with his appointment and we congratulate him, the Councilor stated.
He prayed God to guide and protect the new Permanent Secretary and give him more wisdom and enablement to continue to discharge his duties effectively.
The Councilor on behalf of the people of Otoro Ward 3 thanked the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for finding their illustrious son worthy of the appointment.
Elder Archibong used the occasion to commend the Governor on the numerous achievements he has recorded in the State since assuming office in 2007.
He pledged the support and Loyalty of the people of Otoro Ward 3 to Chief Godswill Akpabio’s administration and assured him of 100 percent votes during the forth-coming general election.
The Councilor explained that Otoro Ward 3 as a PDP Ward will vote for all the PDP Candidates during the forth-coming election.
He wished the people of the State a very peaceful and successful elections.
