Friday Iwok is the best for Abak State Constituency … Prince Usoro

Friday Iwok is the best for Abak State Constituency … Prince Usoro
The Village Head-elect of Ikot Oku Mfang in Abak local government area, Prince Uwemedimo Usoro has described the emergence of Elder Friday Iwok as the PDP Standard-bearer for Abak State Constituency as the best thing to happen to Otoro Clan in particular and Abak State Constituency in general.
Prince Usoro who spoke with our reporter at Abak, noted that the victory of Elder Iwok at the recently concluded PDP primaries was a clear indication to the fact that he has performed marvelously well during his first term in office.

The royal father explained that Elder Friday Iwok was the best among all the aspirants that participated at the PDP primaries and expressed the hope that the Chairman House Committee on Health will do more for the people of Abak State Constituency during his second term. “If you look at the personal attributes of all the aspirants who took part in the primaries, you will see that Elder Friday Iwok was simply the best. He is God-fearing, has sound academic record and he is the most politically experienced,” the royal father stated.

The Village Head-elect pointed out that it is right that Otoro Clan as the second largest in the constituency with three political wards should take another turn having waited for 26 years before testing the Assembly Seat even when other Clans like Afaha Obong (2 Wards) had gone there twice, Midim (2 Wards) has also tested the seat twice while the largest Clan, Abak with four political wards has gone to the Assembly on five occasions.

On the emergence of Chief Godswill Akpabio as the PDP Standard-bearer for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district, Prince Usoro described him as a “Child of destiny,” stressing that he was not surprise on hearing the result of his emergence. “I did not receive the news of his emergence as a surprise. I knew it will come to pass. Besides, it is the lest we can do for him. He has made us proud with his unparalleled record of achievements in the pass seven years. So going to the senate is a deserving reward we can give to him. We must therefore join hands to support him in the up coming election” he appealed.

The royal father regretted that Abak people have not been able to find a political leader for themselves, stressing that all the problems of the area are as a result of the fact that they have no leader. “The time has come for us to re-organize ourselves behind a vibrant and visionary leadership. Without which we will continue to be political under-dogs, with little or nothing to show in environment where there are surplus political benefits in the area of development”, the Village Head-elect reasoned.

Prince Usoro advised the people of Abak to reconsider their political actions, do what is right and shun sentimental political opposition.

He also called on them to rise as one people and support Elder Iwok to go back to the House of Assembly, Chief Akpabio to go to senate and Goodluck Jonathan as the President and should vote for PDP at all levels.
