As Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, an Elder of Goodnews Community International, Abak, Elder Major Samuel Eyoh (Rtd) has called on Christians to emulate the examples of Jesus Christ.
Elder Eyoh who spoke with our reporter at Abak noted that as Christians, the followers of Jesus Christ should behave like Jesus Christ, the Saviour of mankind by loving and caring for one another and living a righteous life.
“Christians means Christ-like. So, as Christians we should emulate our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by showing love, care and concern for others. We should also try to live peaceably with all men”, Elder Eyo advised.
He wished Christians a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.
On the forth-coming general election, Rtd Major Samuel Eyoh advised that the election must be violent-free and called on the people of Abak local government area to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels. “The election must be violent-free. The people of Abak should vote peacefully for PDP candidates. PDP government is performing very well. It is only PDP we know in Akwa Ibom State. The people of Abak should vote for Elder Friday Iwok, Chief Godswill Akpabio, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan so that we continue to enjoy peace,” the retired Army Officer stated.
The former Chairman of Abak local government area used the occasion to congratulate them Member representing Abak State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Elder Friday Iwok on his emergence as the PDP standard-bearer for Abak State constituency.
The former Council Boss described the victory of Elder Friday Iwok for a second term as a victory for the people of Otoro Clan in particular and Abak State Constituency in general, stressing that the people of the constituency stand to benefit a lot by the second term mandate.
On the emergence of Chief Godswill Akpabio as the PDP standard-bearer for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district, Elder Eyoh said, it was not surprising, pointing out that if Godswill Akpabio did not succeed, he would have regarded it as a mistake. “It is not surprising. If he did not succeed, I would have regarded it as a mistake. It is the fulfillment of God's purpose in him because he has submitted himself. Everybody has a calling in different areas. Chief Akpabio has the calling to serve his people,” the Goodnews Community Elder reasoned.
Elder Eyoh thanked the people of Ikot Ekpene senatorial District for giving Chief Akpabio the mandate to go and represent them at the senate, stressing that his sojourn in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly would be of immense benefit to the people of the Senatorial district in particular, Akwa Ibom State and the Country in general.
The former Council Chairman noted that there is going to be a big improvement in the senate of the next dispensation judging by the caliber of persons that have already secured the PDP tickets like Chief Godswill Akpabio, David Mark among others.
He used the occasion to felicitate the State Chief executive on his 52nd birthday, describing his 52 years on earth as very eventful and worth celebrating.
Elder Eyoh wished Chief Akpabio many more fruitful years and many more successes and prayed that he will continue to be useful to humanity.
