The Peoples Democratic Party in Esit Eket says the senator for Eket senatorial District is unstoppable in her quest to emerge the Governor of Akwa Ibom state come 2015. The party made this position in a statement delivered by the Chapter Chairman Mr. Godwin Abia. Abia spoke at the premises of Chief Akansi when Senator Esuene went on a consultation to the people of the area yesterday.
He advised the people not to betray Esuene whom he described as a woman that has the fear of God and one who can lead the people well. He maintained that the PDP nomination which has been fixed for the 29th of May is a party affair and that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the PDP does not lose the election. He appreciated the senator for chosing Esit Eket first in her line of consultations and reaffirmed the decision of the party to offer a level playing field to all the aspirants of the party.
Speaking earlier, Senator Esuene in her position had reemphasized that she was going to make industrialization which will lead to job creations as a priority. She posited that it is the person that has all it takes to offer the people and not those with financial war chest or heavy shoulders. She maintained that she will reactivate the uquo Polyclinic and that she understands all the grassroots problems and will definitely fix them.
Mrs. Esuene added that she has been in public service for quite an appreciable number of years and will bring it to bear in the discharge of her responsibilities as a Governor. She averred that she was going to make Education her priority and will always ensure that teachers go for refresher courses.
Amongst those who spoke at the event were former speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. The former speaker described Mrs. Esuene as a woman who understands the problems of her people and will ensure that she fixes them up. Barr Essien appealed to the people of Esit Eket Local Government Area to see Esuene as their daughter and throw their weight of support behind her. Others who spoke in glowing terms of the distinguished Senator were Hon Awa Emmanuel Awa, Dr Umoh amongst others.
From Esit Eket the campaign train of MMa Esuene moved to Ibeno were it made a stopover at the palace of the paramount ruler of Ibeno, Owong Achianga. The royal monarch poured his royal blessings on the governorship hopeful and assured her of support. The meeting at Ibeno took place at the town Hall near the paramount ruler’s palace. At the town hall, the people of Ibeno received Senator Esuene with open hearts and assured her of their maximum support and cooperation.
The PDP chapter Chairman Ekoakwaha who was represented by an Exco member of the party said, Helen Esuene’s ambition is at the right time. He said, the people of Ibeno Local Government Area will support Helen Esuene. Others who spoke include the women leader of the PDP in the area, the youth leader, party stalwarts and others.
They all had kind words for Esuene and appealed to her not to be distracted as she continues her consultation. Esuene’s consultation continues midweek to Onna Local Government Area.
