A native of Mbiokporo II in Mbiaso ward two in the local government area, Mfon Ekong has brought a new definition of prudence, humility, quality service delivery in her administration which today has made Nsit Ibom Local Government area an apex reference of a model administration at the third tier in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
The success story of Obonganwan Mfon Ekong remains unprecedented as she has continued to remain focused in her vision to implement a sustained change of positive development in the area along the visions of her principal, Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio (CON).
Her tenure in office so far has witnessed life touching projects as she hit the ground running on assumption of office in view of the monthly challenges she met on ground.

Mfon Ekong’s visionary strides in her saddle at the helm has seen the on-going construction of the new administration block reaching an advanced stage as her commitment to provide better facilities for the council in view of the present limited space in the council block remains commendable.
The new administrative block when completed will offer more office space for staff, a better conducive atmosphere for governance and a provision of modern facilities to suit the expectations of the twenty first century administration.
The administrative block when completed will emerge as the best in the state as it will meet all standard requirements in building construction and also have an enhanced aesthetic concept that will be widely appreciated.
Her leadership strides have led to the renovation of the Conference Hall in the present administrative block which has provided a better conducive environment for interactions and meetings on policies that have made positive landmarks in the area.
Obonganwan Mfon Ekong has steered governance successfully with the strong bond and unity with her Councillors, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Supervisors, Staff, the party and the people of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.
In charting this new course in making her administration a success story, her leadership has further provided office furniture for all her executive members in line with meeting their needs and demands in quality leadership as deliberations and decisions have been in the best interest of the people.

Security remains a worrisome challenge in Nigeria today and the administration of Obonganwan Mfon Ekong in Nsit Ibom upon assumption of duty has worked closely with all the relevant security agencies in the area in promoting peace and unity and reducing the crime rate all year round.
The relationship of her administration with the Nigeria Police remains very significant as they have assisted the operations of the police through the provision of a vehicle to ease their transportation challenges during patrols across the area and also provide the police with a generating set for their comfort in office.
The council under the leadership of Obonganwan Mfon Ekong has also provided a generating set for the magistrate Court in the area, provided a vehicle for the Works Department to assist in the monitoring of projects across the wards of the local government area and have sustained an empowerment programme that has touched the lives of the teeming youths, the women, the elders and the party.
Obonganwan Mfon Ekong, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area maintains a cordial working relationship with the staff of the council as he maintains an open door policy as the staff continues to relate with her on ideas that would sustained the leading role of the council in her dispensation.
