AKHA: PDP Woman leader declares intention
As the preparation for 2015 general elections gather momentum in Akwa Ibom state, Princess Affiong Benjamin Ekanem, the Mkpouto Idoro has expressed interest to represent Ibiono Ibom state constituency in the State House of Assembly.

Speaking in ward eight while addressing stake holders, politicians and members of the public in Ibiono Ibom, Princess Ekanem said her interest in the state house through the people’s Democratic Party, PDP would enable her address the plight of the people of Ibiono Ibom.

With the campaign slogan, Divine Mandate 2015 Voice of the Change, Princess Ekanem regretted the years of marginalization of the northern Ibiono, insisting the area with three wards has suffered neglect politically for over twenty eight years.
She made it clear that it was not proper for Northern Ibiono to stay for several years without having elective positions in the state and national assemblies.

Princess Ekanem argued that her interest in the state house of assembly would further help to achieve the participation of women in democratic governance.

In her areas of interest and concern,  princess Ekanem maintained the she would sponsored and support quality bills and motions that would not only stand the test of time but help for the good governance of the state.

She vowed to use her position to attract more government presence to the area in terms of infrastructural and human development.

Princess Ekanem while also promised to be committed to youth’s employment and empowerment pledged to initiate programmes that would further enhance the living condition of the less privileged in the area.

Princess Ekanem who commended the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for his transformational programme for the development of the state expressed readiness to work with the state government in areas of needs.
