Bernard Udoh joins National Assembly race

THE former National Assembly member for   Ikot Abasi federal Constituency Otuekong Bernard Udoh has finally elected to join the race for the green chambers of the National Assembly. Udoh THE INK gathered wants to return to the National Assembly which he left four years ago.

With his entrance into the race, the battle for who occupies the seat has been thrown open. It could be recalled that Otuekong Bernard Udoh lost narrowly to the incumbent Akpan Micah when he was in detention.

There have been tension and communications in hush tones ever since the Mkpat Enin born political maverick indicated interest that he is interested in the seat of Akpan Micah Umoh.


The political tension and calculations in the federal constituency has been in a state of dulling as aspirants who are not strong on the ground are already nursing fears of what the intention of Barnard Udoh is. The likes of Ekong Sampson, Akpan Micah Umoh, and Francis Uduyok had been consulting very widely and with Udoh now in the race, the battle will take a different dimension.

In the meantime, Bernard Udoh has promised that his intention is to ensure that he offers effective representation to his people. He hinted those close to him that he has been under very serious pressure from his people to join the race and that he cannot disappoint them by saying no.

He reiterated that when he gets to the House for another term, that he will ensure that he continues with the effective representation which he has always been giving the people of the federal constituency. 

He called on stakeholders of the federal constituency to jo0in hands with him so that he will return to the National Assembly to serve the people well. He however thanked his supporters for the support he has so far enjoyed.
