Akwa United Football Club of Uyo is eager of having an anthem for the team ahead of the new 2016/2017 Nigeria Football Professional League season.
In a release signed by the media officer of the club, Uwem Ekoh and made available to THE INK sports desk, the statement called on entries form Akwa Ibom people who can compose an anthem for the team to summit their composed anthem and a reward of N100, 000 awaits any luckiest person that his or her song would be approved by the team.
The release reads, “In line with international best practice, Akwa United F.C, the promise keepers and pride of Akwa Ibom is desirous of having a theme song that fans and supporters will be proud of.
Are you a music composer? Do you have a flair for songs; then this is your chance to go into history books as the man or woman who composed the Akwa United Anthem.”
According to the release, 60 seconds long, original and traditional background music, danceable tune and One Hundred Thousand Naira (#100, 000) and other prizes would be available for grabs.
The release further stated “Send your entry, preferably in CD format to the media unit of the club.
You can enter as many entries as possible. The result to be determined by a panel of professional musicologists is final and non-negotiable please. Entries close on or before 4:00 p.m, December 1, 2016.” The release noted.
