Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Projects Monitoring, Mr Godfada Uko, has reiterated his commitment to sponsor sports that will keep youths in Etinan LGA away from social vices and moral decadence.
The Governor’s aide dropped the hint on Saturday when he led some of his colleagues and senior friends to Government Primary School, Ikot Ebo in Etinan LGA, to play a novelty football match with youths of Iman Ibom.
The entourage of the Etinan born topnotch gospel artist - cum - politician included the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Ntufam Elijah Iyak (Udo Eka), SA on Entertainment Industry; Mr David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom), S.A on Projects Monitoring, Mr Udeme Etukeyen, that of Social Re-orientation; Mr Ekpeno Gold, PA on Petroleum Matters, Mr Udo Ekwere, Mr Billy Etuk, as well as the CEO, South Central Records; Mr Christopher Stephen (Mista Xto).
However, the event which was a carnival of some sort, attracted over 1000 youths, women and various political groups including the Etinan Urban Ward 1 PDP Chairman, Mr Uwem Eshiet alongside his Exco.
The elated Godfada, in a post match address, maintained that he will sponsor more football competitions and other sports that will keep youths busy throughout the year.
“Today was not a speech making day. I came with my colleagues and senior friends to convey my immeasurable gratitude to all of you for the unprecedented confidence and trust you have in my boss, my leader and mentor, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel and our great Party, the PDP”, said Godfada Uko.
He assured his people that the Peoples Democratic Party and Governor Udom Emmanuel hold as very sacred the collective trust and mandate of the Etinan people.
Mr Uko pointed at the renovation work going on in the school and many other developmental projects in the area as some of the many dividends of good governance his people are enjoying from the Udom Emmanuel led administration.
Governor’s aides, one after the other, while presenting their goodwill messages, announced cash supports to the people and used the occasion to urge Etinan people to sustain the tempo of support to Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Mr Godfada Uko presented two fifa approved footballs, jerseys and cash to the youths and later treated over a thousand to a sumptuous lunch at his Etinan residence.
