Professionals from Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency i.e Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Eastern Obolo say there will swim and sink with Obong Nsima Ekere the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) till the end of his tenure and even beyond.
Rising from their annual general meeting held in Ikot Abasi last Friday, the group described Obong Ekere as the Seasoned Administrator, a consummate leader and a dogged politician with a large dose of perseverance.
They recalled how he served the State creditably as the Chairman of Akwa Ibom Industrial and Investment Promotion Council (AKIIPOC), Chairman of Ibom Power Company (IPC) and the State Deputy Governor with stainless records.
They expressed optimism that Obong Ekere’s appointment will cement the bond of unity among politicians in the State and will attract more dividends of democracy to the region.
While urging him to ignore distractions and musings of partisan sentiments, they charged Akwa Ibom people, especially the political class to bury their party differences and personal interest and give him the necessary co-operation, support and love to enable him perform well in the exalted office.
