A former Caretaker Chairman of Urueoffong Oruko Local Government Area, Chief Edet Isong who is popularly known as Okossissi has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a letter personally signed by the former council Boss and made available to THE INK reporter, Isong says he is leaving the party on personal reasons stressing that his family and supporters gave him the nod when he consulted them.
The Good Governance Group helmsman appreciated the party for the platform it gave to him to serve and wished the party well in her future endeavours.
He did not mention whether he has joined any other party as details of the resignation on his letter did not mention same. When contacted on phone, Chief Isong acknowledged that he has left the PDP and that he is still into active politics.
Isong it could be recalled is a founding member of the party who contested for the position of the state Chairman of the PDP against the Late Chief Tony Emenyi, then Chairman of the Abuja front of the PDP during Obong Attah’s regime.
He is a great grassroots mobilizer, a quality politician and a strategist who understands political languages.
Sources who spoke with our reporter said, the PDP have missed a great political asset.
