The NDDC Boss who was recently relieved of his office by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR stated this on Sunday, January 8 2016 at Methodist Church Nigeria, Afaha Ekpene, Esit Eket local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
According to him, “ while some trust in their chariot, others believe in their horses, might and money, I believe in the name of God and I am confident that he has a purpose for my life.”
He said the people of Akwa Ibom state have to thank God for the opportunity to serve in the Niger Delta Development Commission as not everyone who go there return with life.
“My appearance in the office of NDDC was not by swift, nor might but as it pleased God.
“I’ve been commissioning projects in the nine state of the region and one day, I asked myself, would I be like the proverbial carpenter who made doors and windows for other people but deprived himself and house.
“That was the reason I started attracting projects to my area and it was done with due process”, Abia noted.
The NDDC Boss, who has been commissioner in several ministries of Akwa Ibom State narrated that since he handed over the job as MD of NDDC , the first time he visited Akwa Ibom State is today where he chose to worship God in his local church before he venture into other engagement .
He said his visit to the state was unplanned as he only inform certain people about it.
He informed the large congratulations that the job NDDC is like playing football soccer, only those who are in the field really know the onion and the pains in it.
He said political appointment is like a relay race as the occupant only handle the mantle for a moment.
He said he was in the church to thank God for the period in the office, as God has saw him through the thick and thin of the office
Barr. Abia assured the people, supporters to be firm and committed with everything they found themselves and also prayed God to give other indigenes or citizens of Akwa Ibom community, another chance to continue from where he stopped.
