Protocol,

Sir, let me onbehalf of our members thank you for making out time from your busy schedule to receive us on this courtesy call. We have watched with admiration how you have piloted the affairs of your party, the PDP since your elevation by God and your party members into the office of State Chairman.

The same distinction and excellence, you demonstrated, when you held office previously as a member of the State Executive Council, having served as one time Commissioner. Your hardwork has paid off and we rejoice with you. We therefore commend your tenacity of purpose, focus and sagacity in instilling the ideals of party discipline, loyalty and supremacy in members.

Factors which has seen you lead the party into stunning successes in several General and Local elections in the state. I will not hesitate to acknowledge that, the good people of Akwa Ibom in general and stakeholders in your Party are satisfied with your excellent performance having reinforced the templates of equity, social justice, power shift and political inclusion in the affairs of your great party.

We extend our hands of fellowship to you and seek to cooperate and work very closely with you to project the activities of the party in the state and partner effectively in enthroning a just and egalitarian society. Sir, as League of Publishers, we are the proprietors of major news mediums in the state, and our role as pivots for information management and dissemination cannot be over emphasized.

The League under my watch is determined and committed to right the wrongs of sensational publications, propaganda and outright falsehoods reported as news to score cheap political points. These negative trends of few newspapers does not augur well with us and breaks the society instead of building it. God helping us, we shall combat this menace and restore sanity to the business of publishing.

Sir, let me confess to you that, we have teething problems which we know you can use your good offices to help us resolve, including, office accommodation, and a vehicle for the transportation needs of the League. We shall be grateful as you intervene in these areas, and also speaking with the powers that be to assist us.

In the nearest future, we count on you to facilitate our collaboration with the Chapter and Ward structures of your Party, so that we can also interface with them and spread our message of solidarity and a constructive local press to all stakeholders.

We commend you for mobilizing your people to. Support the Government and people of Akwa Ibom state in particular and believe you will do so, much more, in the event of a rerun in the governorship elections. I will not end this address without congratulating you on your unanimous selection by the League for the conferment of the Patron of the League of Publishers, Akwa Ibom State.

The very first person to be so honoured. Accept this honour and may we benefit from your wealth of wisdom, experience and blessings.

Sir, once again, I thank you for this warm reception and we wish you well in your activities and pledge our total support to you as you continue to serve with integrity and selflessness which you are known for.
