AKSG are determined to care for her citizens – Ekaette Inyang

Items worth thousands of naira were yesterday donated to patients in the Family Life Centre/VVF Hospital, Mbribit Itam for their upkeep and welfare.

The donations which was courtesy of the state Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel and wife Martha included wrappers, Bags of Rice, Garri and salt, cartons of Indomie noodles, Custards and milk, Dakkada T-shirts, gallons of groundnut oil and cash.

Presenting the gifts to the Rev. Sister in charge of the hospital on behalf of the Governor and wife, the National Woman leader of Udom Ambassadors, Engr. Ekaette Inyang said the gesture from the Governor and wife shows the determination of the present administration to ensure that Akwa Ibom people are well catered for.
She said the Governor and wife are very passionate about the health of the citizenry, thus exemplified in the initiation of policies and programmes in the state which is geared towards giving the people quality health care.

Engr. Inyang encouraged the patients not to feel bad about their condition, but look up to God for speedy recovery noting that Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife Martha will always support them whenever the need arises.

Responding, the Rev. Sister in charge of the hospital, Sylvia Ndubuaka expressed appreciation to the Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife Martha for always paying attention to the health needs of the patients.

She recalled the many support of the Governor’s wife since assumption of office describing her as a mother with a large heart, full of compassion and care.

According to the Rev. Sister, the Family Life Center/VVF is run by the Medical Missionary of Mary Sisters, with all the surgeries and medical needs of the patients given free.

While soliciting for more support from the state government and other kind spirited individuals, the Rev. Sister also appealed  for the rehabilitation and empowerment of the patients after medical treatment to enable the become self-reliant.

Some of the patients who spoke applauded the gesture of Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife and prayed for God’s benevolence on them
