Frequent cases of road mishap worries A’Ibom Governor

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has expressed displeasure at the frequent loss of lives due to the recklessness exhibited by commercial drivers and other road users on the highways. The Governor bared his mind at Uyo  when he encountered a victim of motor accident along Uyo - Nung Udoe Expressway while on official engagement over the weekend.

Mr Emmanuel who halted his Convoy and directed his medical team to attain to the accident victim, condemned the spate of hit and run by Motorist who have perpetually endangered life that could have been saved if they had exercised caution or stopped to assist the victim to a nearby Health facility for prompt medical attention.
The Governor ordered for the evacuation of the corpse to the mortuary after the Medical team had certified the accident victim dead and called on the Ambulance Services of the Ministry of Transport to be on the watch for cases of accident on the highways urging them to extend their Services to major roads within the State. The Governor later proceeding on his trip.
