Eket Youths celebrate Udobia, pledge allegiance to Udom-led Govt

Youths in the state under the aegis of Forum of Eket Federal Constituency Youth Leaders have commended the steadfast and uncompromising support of Elder Ben Udobia for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)-led government of Udom Emmanuel.

Members of the Forum, who gathered in Eket to celebrate Elder Udobia, said their intention was borne out of “his maturity, ability and capacity to deliver in line with the mandate and vision of Udom Emmanuel administration.”

In a communiqué signed by Comrade Imossan Okodi (Esit Eket); Tommy Enoidem (Eket); Armstrong Elijah (ONNA), and Okuku Ikpe (Ibeno), the Forum said Elder Udobia’s hospitable disposition has been one of the unifying factors in the area, noting that it would heartwarming to see more of his type in every part of the Federal Constituency.
“We look forward to the day when even stakeholders and elders of the Federal Constituency will see the need to celebrate him like we are doing today instead of sponsoring attack of calumny on him. It is gestures like Udobia’s that can truly inspire and unite us. This is why we will continue to celebrate Elder Udobia,” the statement added.

The statement, which stated the forum’s commitment to Elder Udobia to be based on his strong character and integrity, further stressed that whether or not there be a rerun, their allegiance to the Udom-led government will remain unshaken.

The youths, through the communiqué, expressed displeasure over the recent targeted blackmail on Elder Udobia, one they described as an “exuberant quest for political relevance and an attempt to drag the image of our respectable leader to mud.”

According to the statement, “We were shocked when we discovered the motive of that publication and its sponsors. A certain irrelevant political class only wanted to use that to bring to bear their craves for political relevance in the area.”
