Senator Aloysius was not booed in Ikono

Senator Etok
A former two-term Senator of the Federation, Senator Aloysius Etok has described as false, misleading and baseless a publication in a local tabloid where it was reported that he was booed at a stakeholders meeting in his constituency. He described those who cobbled the news to be mindful of what they put out to the public at all times.

This was contained in a press statement made available to THE INK and signed by his media aide, Etop Umoidem. The Distinguished Senator noted that he never attended any Constituency briefing. “I was invited to a stakeholders meeting by Iboro Ekanem and I obliged him only to learn on my arrival that it was constituency briefing instead of the stakeholders meeting that I was told. I did not stay long but left since the gathering was different from what I intended attending. It is therefore disheartening for someone to say that I was booed at the meeting.’’
The release explained that the youths only grumbled when Hon. Iboro Ekanem did not include them in his largesse hence their reaction. The statement observed that those who published the malicious news took advantage of that to report that he was booed when the reverse was the case.
The statement added that the Senator is loved among his people including elders, youths and women hence their love and support that led to his successful outing at the National Assembly.
“At the meeting, over 95 percent of those who were in attendance were happy to see the Distinguished Senator in the meeting after a long while.’’
The release warned that no amount of falsehood will tarnish the good image of Senator Aloysius Etok.
