Dan Abia donates water to Eket community

The immediate past MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Sir Bassey Dan Abia still smarting from his sponsorship of the Knight of John Wesley Football Tournament in Esit Eket last Sunday has commissioned a water project he constructed for the people of Odoro Atabong in Eket Local Government Area. Speaking at the commissioning, the former NDDC boss said he has always been with the people and will continue to be with the people. He appreciated the efforts and perseverance of the Odoro Atabong Youth leader who insisted that he come to the aid of the community by providing a portable drinking water for them. Abia who went down memory lane informed the people that as a child he had lived at Atabong and that he is a part of them. He called on the people to remain committed to God as the Almighty will not let them down.

Abia who until recently was the MD of NDDC promised to assist the women, the youths and the children in providing empowerment structures for them. He called on the women to mobilize themselves into groups so that they will benefit from the soft loans he intends to make available for them.
The village head of Atabong was full of praises for the former NDDC boss and called on him never to forget the community. He prayed God to bless the former Attorney General of Akwa Ibom State and wished him the very best Onbehalf of members of Atabong communities.
Amongst those who spoke at the commissioning of the event were the women leader, youth leaders and children who also expressed appreciation to Abia for such gestures which they described as unprecedented in the history of the community.
