AKS requires befitting Hotel and Catering School, says top hotellier - Daniel Udoh

Ace politician and hotelier, Mr. Daniel Udoh (aka North South Ventures) had been advocating for an urgent establishment of a well equipped Hotel and Catering School in Akwa Ibom State, in order to drive the ongoing government industrialization dream to a logical conclusion. Mr. Udoh, who also the chief executive officer of Albert’s Suites, reiterated the need for a befitting school for the training and retraining of staff to work in the emerging hotel and other entertainment outfits.

He noted that various hotel staff now being employed by the industry, were half baked who cannot rub shoulders with their counterparts in other states across the country.
The Albert’s Suites boss wondered where the state will secure able and qualified hands to man the rising fortunes currently witnessed in the entertainment sub-sector, if lip service was paid to staff training, retraining, within and outside Nigeria.
“The worst phenomenon now is that, the few workers in the industry who we manage to train in terms of professionalism, are daily stepping out to look for greener pastures somewhere else.
Udoh, himself an epitome of public relations, posited that, if the ongoing oversight observed in the industry is not corrected and quickly too, the much talked about industrialization policy of government may turn out to suffer a still birth, pointing out that, Akwa Ibom State presently is likely to be the only state without such school in the country.
The public affairs commentator also canvassed the coperation of government in the area of partnership through granting of regular soft loans as well as patronizing various hotels across the state, so that they can function optimally as being done in advanced countries.
The socialite par excellence, who was the chairman on the occasion of 2015 get together of the Akwa Ibom State Hotel Proprietors Association (AHPA) was later awarded a millennium prize by the association, following the impact he has created within the industry.
