He particularly thanked the Eket people for organising the reception in his honour and pledged to defend the mandate freely given to him during last year’s April 11th general election stressing that his administration is committed to grassroot development and enhancement of the people ‘s welfare.

He condemned the sudden removal of the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission and appealed to the Federal Government to nominate another Akwa Ibom son to complete the tenure as allotted to the State which is the largest producer of the Nation’s resources.
Setting the tone for the event, the Commissioner for Works and Chairman Planning Committee, Mr Ephraim Inyang said the mega reception was held for Governor Udom Emmanuel to revalidate their support for the mandate given to him.
The state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Obong Paul Ekpo thanked Eket Senatorial District for giving Akwa Ibom their best who, despite economic down turn has strived to make the State an Industrial hub in Nigeria..
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon Onofiok Luke called for the sustenance of the zoning arrangement stressing that Eket should be allowed to participate in governance in the spirit of fairness.
Others including Senator Anietie Okon, Engr. Samuel Effanga, Akon Eyakenyi, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, Lady Valerie Ebe in their separate reactions, pledged the solidarity of the people to the Governor. Senator Anietie Okon cautioned those trying to mortgage the collective will of the people to desist from such act and advised them to tow the path of fairplay, equity and justice.
