2015 Guber- Group drums support for Udom Emmanuel

It was a celebration of some sort as a socio-political organization under the aegis of Transformation Initiative for the Empowerment of Ibom People (TIEIP), Uyo Senatorial District gathered on the 31st of December 2014 for the end of year get together and to also felicitate Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel on his emergence as the PDP governorship standard bearer for Akwa Ibom State.

The National Vice Chairman of Uyo Senatorial District of TIEIP, Rt. Hon. Tony Essien in his remarks described the body as one of the foremost socio political organizations in the state that believes in Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and is dedicated to voting him as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.  He expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief (Dr.) Godswill Obot Akpabio (CON) for the uncommon transformation currently witnessed in the state and for his uncommon support for Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.

Tony Essien called on all eligible voters in Uyo Senatorial District to go out enmasse and vote for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as President of Nigeria and Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as Governor of Akwa Ibom State as well as all the PDP standard bearers at all levels in 2015 general elections.

Briefing the members on political issues, the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Obong Godwin Ekpo said that as core loyalists of PDP, they have decided to support Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the next governor, as he has been a banker of no mean repute and had not dented his image in the banking sector.  In his words: “We need commitment and sincerity of purpose.  APC cannot win Akwa Ibom State.”  He used the occasion to advise the G22 aspirants to bury their hatchet and come back home as loyal party members to negotiate on delivering Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the Governor in 2015.  He added that the Peoples Democratic Party has set up a reconciliation team headed by Senator Effiong Bob to reconcile all the aggrieved aspirants with a view to mapping out strategies that would ensure Udom’s victory in the forthcoming elections.

The Ibiono Ibom council boss maintained that as soon as Udom becomes the governor of Akwa Ibom State, every member to the Transformation Initiative for the Empowerment of Ibom People (TIEIP) would have reason to smile.

The chapter coordinators of the eight LGAs that make up Uyo Senatorial District of TIEIP (Ibesikpo Asutan, Etinan, Nsit Ubium, Itu, Uruan, Nsit Ibom, Nsit Atai and Uyo) gave their progress reports in their various LGAs and assured that they have put machineries in place to campaign for Udom Emmanuel, as they are on ground to ensure his emergence as the next governor of the state.  They expressed belief that in 2015 the victory song shall be sung in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the women, the Uyo senatorial district women leader of TIEIP, Princess Mary Ikpoto assured that women in the senatorial district are ready to cue behind Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel to emerge as the next Governor of the State.
