 NDDC top job: Niger Delta Youths endorse Dan Abia


The nominee for the post of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Elder (Barr) Dan Abia has received the backing of the entire Niger Delta youths as they have expressed confidence on his leadership and administration qualities to lead the organization to greater heights. 

At a world press conference held last Friday, the President of the Niger Delta Youth Development Movement (NDYM) Prince Ajulisan Akumagba described the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief (Dr) Godswill Akpabio’s great commitment to the course of development in the Niger Delta Region as a most important guarantee for his nomination of Chief (Barr) Bassey Dan Abia for Presidential appointment as the NDDC Chief Executive Officer. 


Prince Akumagba described Governor Akpabio as a great Niger Delta patron who has worked for the rapid development in the Niger Delta as evidenced by the uncommon transformation successes in Akwa Ibom State.

He said that the NDYM is working out modalities to find permanent solutions to the immediate and remote causes of any opposition to Dan Abia restating that with Chief Bassey Dan Abia’s proximity and participation in Governor Akpabio’s developmental revolution in Akwa Ibom State, gives credence to the propriety of his current nomination for the NDDC top job. 

The NDYM restated its belief in the qualities of Barrister Bassey Dan Abia as a distinguished Niger Delta leader who is full of integrity and commendable loyalty to the rapid development in the region recalling his achievements as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Akwa Ibom State, he was once an NDDC Commissioner for the state and an Acting Chairman of NDDC, while he presently holds the office as Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal in Akwa Ibom State.
