 SWAN ‘AKS’ chapter inaugurates new exco
 
… Three offices still vacant

The Akwa Ibom State  chapter of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) recently elected and inaugurated a new set of executive.

The election and inauguration which was held at the state box, Uyo township stadium saw Sports Writing ace, Uwem Ekoh elected as the chairman for a second term and Comrade Enwongoabasi Ituen as his vice chairman while Solomon Bassey assumed the position of Secretary.

THE INK Newspaper, on close observation, witnessed a great and commanding turnout of voters who were believed to be SWAN members. Amidst heavy and tight security around the premises, the aspirants were successfully screened without much interrogation.

The preceding Exco was dissolved minutes before the election proper. The outcome of the election favoured the smart-looking Uwem Ekoh who jumped for joy after the results was announced by the Vice Chairman, South-South sports writer, Justice Udousoro. While taking their oath of office, the newly inaugurated Exco members, were admonished to always place God first in all they do and put in their best to take sports journalism to the next level.

The election was witnessed by former SWAN chairman, Dr. Uwem Akpan and Sports Presenter, Dr. Nsikan-Abasi Senam who are still integral members of the body.
The Uyo township stadium relaxation and refreshment spots played host to the various Exco members and their supporters as they were given a good treat.

Meanwhile, three offices are still vacant. They include the office of Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary and Treasurer which will be filled soon through the appointment of the Chairman Elder Uwem Ekoh.
