The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate in the just concluded Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district election, Chief Inibehe Okori has congratulated Nigerians as the country clocks 55 years of nationhood.
In a release in Abuja, Chief Okori urged all Nigerians to not only celebrate our 55 years as an independent nation but look up to the future with greater hope, enthusiasm and patriotic zeal towards the realization of a strong, economically diverse, prosperous and united country.
He called on Nigerians to rise above ethnicity, tribalism, religion and party affiliation to support President Mahammadu Buhari in his avowed determination to fight corruption, tackle insurgency and reposition the economy for accelerated socio- economic development that will lead to a diversified economy, job creation, poverty eradication, wealth creation, a thriving small and medium scale business sector, and greater value on entrepreneurial skills that will provide the much needed skilled manpower to drive industrialization and economic growth.
The APC chieftain called on government at all levels to work together for the good and general well-being of the Nigerian people whose hopes and expectations are enormous despite limited funds available to government as a results of dwindling fall in the price of crude oil in the international market and commended the President for the Single Treasury Account policy which he noted will go a long way to restore financial sanity, transparency and accountability and block leakages that caused government to loose revenue that would have been utilised for the good of the common man.
Chief Okori gave kudos to his constituents for the show of love and solidarity in his determination to reclaim the stolen mandate of his people which arose from the disputed March 28, 2015 Akwa Ibom North West senatorial election and called on all his supporters and Akwa Ibom people to remain calm and hopeful, expressing confidence in the ability of the judiciary to right the wrong done to his constituents and restore the stolen mandate.
