Abak Chairmanship seat: Group drums support for Gabriel Etim

As preparation for next year’s chairmanship election gathers momentum, a socio-political organization in Abak Local Government Area, the Frontline Unity Foundation has declared Obong (Sir) Gabriel Etim as the best material for the Abak Local Government top seat. A statement issued at the end of an enlarged meeting of the organization which took place at Abak  over the weekend and signed by the Chairman Mr. Nsisong Etukudo, Vice Chairman, Mr. Nsikak Tom and Secretary, Mr. Kufre Stephen, the Frontline Unity Foundation noted that since  it is the turn of  Afaha  Obong Clan to produce the next elected Chairman of the council, the organization after carefully assessing all the aspirants that have so far emerged, decided to adopt Obong Gabriel Etim based on his antecedent and excellent track record.

The organization in the statement, pointed out that as the Chairman PDP Elders Forum, Afaha Obong Ward 2, Obong Gabriel Etim has contributed immensely to growth and success of the party in all the elections conducted since the return of democracy in 1999. They specifically commended the chairmanship hopeful for using his position touch the lives of many people positively.” As a knight of the Catholic Church, he cares more for the poor and the needy in the society. He is honest, transparent, God-fearing, hardworking, humble and above all, has the interest of his people at heart. Obong Gabriel Etim is a  highly disciplined personality and a down- to- earth politician who has all it takes to move Abak  Local Government Area to the next level of development,” the statement read in part. 
The Organization noted that while serving as Education Secretary, Obong (Sir) Gabriel Etim facilitated the employment of over 75 indigenes of Abak into the civil service and today, they are all responsible citizens, taking care of their respective families.
The Frontline Unity Foundation explained that in 1986 when Obong Etim was the Secretary of Afaha Obong  Development Union, he contributed immensely to the electrification of some Villages and the construction of a class-room block in Community High School, Afaha Obong . The organization noted that since the last two Transition Committee Chairmen from Afaha Obong Clan emerged from Afaha Obong Ward One, it is the turn of Afaha Obong Ward 2 to produce the next Chairman of the Council. They expressed the hope that if given the opportunity, Obong Gabriel Etim would not disappoint the good people of Abak.
The Organization is the statement, appealed to the people of Abak to join hands together and support the aspiration of Obong (Sir) Gabriel Etim.
