Tower of Ivory Schools  celebrate new staff, students

Last week Friday was a joyous day for the  new staff and students of Tower of Ivory Schools as a welcome party was held to formerly welcome them to the fold of the school.

The welcome party which took place at the school compound, Ediene-Abak, Abak Local Government Area attracted all the old students, staff as well as the entire management crew of the school.

Addressing the new staff and students, the Chairman, Board of Governors, Tower of Ivory Schools, DIG Udom Ekpoudom (rtd) said the school came on board in the year 2010, and has been the tradition of the school that every first term, the management of the school must set aside one day to welcome her new staff and students into the fold of the school.

 He said the significant of the party was to let all the new staff and students to mix-up with the old ones as well as know themselves and also to let them understand that the school consider every staff and student as important which will let them feel and work as a family. 
The former police boss maintained that Tower of Ivory Schools has always try to be at the top in terms of giving quality education, adding that the school has always recorded 100% pass with high grade in any examinations and competitions within and outside the State.

DIG Udom Ekpoudom charged the new students to take their studies very serious so that they can graduate with good grade at the end of their studies in the school. He used the opportunity to warn new students that the school will not tolerate any form of examination malpractices even as he urged them to dedicate themselves to read their books which will help them come out with flying colours.      

He reiterated the school’s determination to provide enabling environment for the students, while disclosing that over 128 new students have been admitted into the school and 75 new staff have been recently employed.   According to him, “Today we are welcoming our new staff and our new students to the fold of Tower of Ivory Schools. It is our tradition that we do this every first term.”

Also speaking, the principal of the school, Mr. Uchenna Enyia while welcoming the new students, said the welcome party was to officially let them know each other amongst all the old staff and students. He stressed that the school believe in discipline and high standard both in content and practice, saying that the school will not fail to punish any erring staff or student who would derail from the roles and regulations of the school. 

In his words, “Many came for the admission but those that succeeded are the ones we are celebrating today. We believe in qualitative education, discipline is our watch word. So, I will advise all the new students to put in their best.” Mr. Enyia wished the new students well in thier studies in the school.

Responding, one of the new staff, Mrs. Bertha Ulugwarama thanked the school management for giving them the opportunity to teach and train future leaders in the school. He assured the school management that they will put in their best to ensure that the high regard and standard of Tower of Ivory School dose not fail in their hands.

The General School’s Prefect, Master Itoro Boniface while speaking charged new students to always conduct themselves in a good manner according to the school’s rules and regulations which was handed to them. Itoro Boniface noted that the school is determined to change the society by equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become good leaders of tomorrow. He took time to read out the rules and regulations of the school to the new students. High point of the event was the performances by new students and staff. The students also had a dance time with the Chairman, Board of Governors, DIG Udom Ekpoudom and the school Coordinator, Lady Dorathy Ekpoudom.
