The Mount Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Ikot Uso Ekong Diocese in Eket Local Government Area gathered in their number and rolled out their peculiar drums on Friday, September 18, 2015 at about 10:00am in the premises of the late husband of the deceased, Elder, (Barr) Emmanuel Tommy Etiekak Ikot Uso Ekong to give their last respect and burial of the corpse of their devoted and astute member, Senior Deaconess Adiaha Emmanuel Etiekak
In a sermon delivered by Apostle Ime White from the church International Headquarter at No. 9 Inyang Street, Calaber, Cross River State and tagged “There is hope for the Dead”, the minister reminded the congregation to note that dead is earth and is already working in man. He also stressed that all death is death no matter the source, but that the consolation is that, there is hope for the dead in Christ. The minister also emphasized that Christianity can be force on man but is accepted through the determination of man himself.
His message was drawn from Act 24:15-17 and Job 34:10-15. However, the first and second Bible reading was taken from Job 16:16-22 and 1thessalonias 4:13-18. In his tribute on behalf of the bereaved children, one of the sons, and chief mourner, Ubong Etiekak summarized the good virtues of the deceased and her contribution to the upbringing and education of her children. His testimony was complimented by other including the representatives of the village and that of the Diocese.
Songs rendition was presented by individual choirs in the diocese including the Diocese choir led by Brother Ukeme Akpen. The high point the event was condolence Rally and tribute by the Diocese women fellowship led by Deaconess Mercy Esema Bassey and assisted by the state Deaconess Margaret B. J. Isim.
The event was attended by a cream of personalities from far and near, and church dignatories including the diocese Superintendent, Apostle A. E. Ekanem Assembly pastors, Presiding Elders and other Elders.
