Before now, an Akwa Ibom man was regarded as the lowest in society.
People look at us with disdain, people never give us a chance. In fact, the mention of the name Akpan, Udo, Ekaette by people outside the state connoted negativity, imperfection. People generally look at us as third class citizens, but today, the story is different, people all over the country want to identify with Akwa Ibom people. They see us as people competing with them, they even see us as people surpassing them in all ramifications”, the Council Boss stated.
